![]() I was expecting the purchase process to take me sometime into this week, and was pleasantly surprised that the automation processed my purchase within seconds.ġ) Executed the online purchase from MDA's online store, quickly got to the "your purchase is complete" page on the website.Ģ) Submitted the 2-field "Download Request" form.ģ) Found both acknowledgement emails in my inbox (total time about 2 minutes.) I opened the purchase receipt first, found download links inside, started the Windows download. I noticed on Saturday evening Novem(I'm USA Pacific, GMT-8) that the aforementioned fix was out, and decided to proceed. Martin & team: that was a superbly quick turnaround to get 6.0.1 out the door - I was sort of expecting that to be late next week, perhaps later. Given the chatter about having to work-around the HW5->HW6 license transition when hosted by Windows, I decided to wait until a bug fix was released. No functional or other glitches whatsoever (assuming 6.0.1 install.)īackground - my goal was to successfully upgrade my HW5.0.1 to HW6, whilst retaining my current configurations (but if I lost those, it would not be too big of a problem, my setup is basic, but does have HW files distributed across several SSDs.) I'm running Windows 10, using a perpetual-advanced license managed through Internet-based iLok. ![]() Very happy with the result, and absolutely no loss of previous configurations/setups. There are Forum support notes on this, but it seems absent from the documentation (perhaps its all there and I just missed it.). TLDR version - went smoothly and very quickly without issue, but could have benefited from a few additional bits of documentation that would have clarified some ambiguities in the process - especially the steps to upgrade from Trial to Purchased license before Trial expiry, and the attendant HW5 license surrender. Thought I'd provide my step-by-step to get from a (Windows) HW5 Advanced-Permanent license to the same in HW6.
